I wrote this song through a stream of consciousness after waking up to a melody that came to me in a dream. I got up immediately and recorded the full demo within a couple hours. I’ve never written a song that fast before. I was going through a very vulnerable time, struggling with lots of self doubt, wondering if I had chosen the right career path. I was not only seeking assurance and love from my family and those around me, but also from myself. This is probably my favorite song on the EP and by far my favorite to play live. The chorus, “I’m here and ready for love” became my mantra and served me well as I made the move down to LA from SF last year. I feel like the universe has heard me repeat it enough because I have truly been feeling the love!! <3
